Weekend Getaway

This Memorial Day weekend Ty and I went camping with our good friends Brock and Krystle. We went to Echo, UT (my parents own some land up there...it is the birthplace of all of my childhood camping memories). We made "hobo" dinners as soon as we got there...only to realize that after we had made them I had somehow forgotten to cut up the carrots (one of the best parts of the whole dinner). Bummer...but we survived. It was a delicious dinner...I hadn't eaten a "hobo" dinner since girls camp some 8 years ago, so it was just as good as I remembered. After dinner we made S'mores (naturally). I wish I had taken a picture cause they were delicious!!! The only way I will eat a S'more is this...first you have to have the right ingredients: Mallows, Graham crackers, and Reese's Peanut Butter Cups (I know it sounds weird but IT IS THE BEST). Once you have the ingredients you set your peanut butter cup next to the fire so it is nice and soft (do this while you are roasting your mallow) once the mallow is ready, grab your peanut butter cup, place it on the cracker and then slide your mallow in between the two crackers (for a better taste then set the new S'more sandwich over the fire to get that cracker nice and toasty). After all of that you are ready to eat and enjoy. YUP, that's the best I know. The rest of the weekend was filled with awesome four-wheeling. It was beautiful. We came home Saturday night and then went back up Monday morning with our friend Ben. It rained most of the day, but I didn't complain, I absolutely LOVE rain. I just can't describe how beautiful it was. It was a great weekend and I was sad to see it leave.

Let us start from the very beginning, a very good place to start...

Ty and I met through his best friend (who I had had a huge crush on and had gone out with, but I guess that wasn't meant to be...wink wink James). We dated off and on for 10 months and then decided to just go ahead and get married. We were married on December 27, 2005. Which makes the week of Christmas very crazy for us...Ty's birthday is the 25, Christmas, our Anniversary the 27, and then my birthday the 29. We get it all done within 5 days. The wedding day went by in a flash and about all I can remember is that the food was absolutely INCREDIBLE. It was a fabulous but long day!!

Did you know this about me...

So I got a tag or whatever it is called, so I thought I would do it. So here it goes.

- I was 16 years old and a Sophomore at Bonneville High School. I had just finished drivers ed., but refused to get my drivers license because I was scared of driving (I know it’s funny because those of you who know me know that I love driving and always volunteered to drive on the road trips).

Snacks I Enjoy
One of my favorite snacks is baby carrots. I know, weird...but I love them.
I love French Onion Sun Chips. Mmmmm

3 Bad Habits
I bite bite bite my nails. I keep trying to stop, but so far I have not succeeded.
I have a bad habit of yelling “dip shiz” when someone cuts me off.
I pop my knuckles.

5 Places I’ve Lived
North Ogden (although I don’t remember it)
Layton
South Ogden
Bountiful
Back to South Ogden

Jobs I’ve Had
Day Care Teacher: I love working with kids, but I don’t want to be a permanent babysitter.

WSU Bookstore: One of the best jobs ever. I made tons of life long friends and I got great benefits there. I was there for almost 5 years.

Pier 1: Loved, loved, loved working there. Only problem was I spent my paycheck as soon as I had received it. I just love decorating and home decor.

Piano/Vocal Teacher: I love teaching piano! I love watching my students grow and learn. Such a fun job.

TA for Special Ed.: Greatest job in the world!!! Literally! I work with students (18-22 yrs of age) who have disabilities ranging from mild to severe. They are my ray of sunshine. I seriously have the best job!
